Congressman Nick Langworthy Keeps Pressure on USPS Over Proposed Buffalo Facility Move
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) released the following statement after the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) announced a new public meeting time regarding the proposed move of the Buffalo Processing and Distribution Center to Rochester.
"I am pleased to see that USPS has responded to the concerns of our hardworking families in Western New York by adjusting the meeting time outside of regular business hours, allowing more community members to actively participate,” said Congressman Langworthy. “While this is a positive step forward, I still have concerns for the future of those whose livelihoods are tied to the Buffalo Processing and Distribution Center. I urge USPS to respond to my letter regarding written job assurances to provide more transparency and accountability in the decision-making process.”
After Congressman Langworthy recently met with and penned a letter to USPS officials, the public meeting time was moved from the original date/time of Wednesday, January 31, at 3:00 pm to the new date/time, February 27, at 6:00 pm.
