July 26, 2023

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) took to the House Floor to support provisions in H.R. 4368, the FY24 Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, that will combat the invasive Spotted Lanternfly.

“The Spotted Lanternfly, native to Asia, has proven to be an aggressive and destructive pest that threatens our specialty crops, including grapes and apples, in areas like Western New York and the Southern Tier,” said Rep. Langworthy. “This provision invests nearly $19 million to protect our farmers, safeguard our crops, and preserve the future of our agricultural communities from the devastating effects of this pest.”
