Langworthy Statement on H.R. 5860

September 30, 2023

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) released a statement following his vote in support of H.R. 5860, the Continuing Appropriations Act, 2024 and Other Extensions Act.

“Today, I voted for a 45-day extension of federal funding to avert a shutdown, ensuring that critical services continue and our military families don’t miss a paycheck,” said Rep. Langworthy. “Despite the House Democrats’ antics delaying the vote, including pulling the fire alarm, we got this done for the American people. We must rein in Washington’s out-of-control spending, but shutting down the government is not the solution. During this extension, I am working with my colleagues to pass the remaining eight of twelve appropriations bills that will advance conservative policies, curb spending, and address the crisis at the border.”
