Langworthy Announces Nearly $93,500 in Federal Funding for Family Farm in East Aurora
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) announced a U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Grant for Erba Verde Farms, in the amount of $93,488. Located in East Aurora, Erba Verde Farms raises pastured and free-range chicken, pastured pork, grass-fed beef, veal, and milk.
“Our local farmers work hard every single day to feed our community, and this grant underscores our commitment to their success,” said Rep. Langworthy. “Erba Verde Farms is not just a family-owned farm, but they're a small business that helps to drive our local economy. This funding will allow them to create six new jobs and strengthen our food supply chains.”
This USDA Rural Development Value Added Producer Grant will be used to expand Erba Verde Farms’ processed pasture-raised broiler chicken line. According to the USDA, the Value Added Producer Grants Program helps farmers and ranchers venture into new markets by adding value to their bio-based products that will increase their revenue. Funds may be used to process or market these products.
