ICYMI: Congressman Langworthy Shows Support To Erie County Sheriff's Special Operations Division

In case you missed it… Congressman Langworthy joined Erie County Sheriff John Garcia toured the department’s Special Operations Headquarters in Orchard Park to see the equipment the department has to keep the residents of Erie County safe.

“Our community faced devastating loss after Winter Storm Elliott and I want to say thank you to the entire Erie County Sheriff’s Department who worked tirelessly to save lives and bring people to safety. It took a herculean response from first responders who left their families on Christmas to go out into very dangerous conditions, and we are eternally grateful. I want to make sure our law enforcement officers have the resources they need to do their jobs and respond to an emergency and was glad to get a tour of the special operations headquarters to see the needs of the sheriff’s department firsthand,” said Congressman Langworthy.

Congressman Langworthy was joined by Erie County Sheriff John Garcia and the Special Operations Division within the department. The division consists of two branches, each providing specially trained and equipped personnel to respond throughout Erie County, to assist Deputies, other law enforcement officers, and agencies in several situations. The division is also responsible for the comprehensive investigation of all criminal matters reported to the Sheriff's Police Services Division. Investigators work closely with town, state and federal law enforcement agencies and have special abilities and expertise, which are available to all municipalities within Erie County. 

Congressman Langworthy represents the 23rd Congressional District which includes Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Chemung, Schuyler, and Steuben Counties and parts of Erie County. Visit langworthy.house.gov.
