Congressman Nick Langworthy Votes to Block Radical Gas Vehicles Ban
September 15, 2023
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) voted in support of H.R. 1435, the Preserving Choice in Vehicle Purchases Act, which would prohibit the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from issuing waivers to allow states to limit the use or sale of new motor vehicles with internal combustion engines.
“Last year, Governor Kathy Hochul announced that New York State would move forward with a ban on the sale of new, gas-powered vehicles by 2035,” said Rep. Langworthy. “This legislation would prevent radicals from New York to California from instituting bans that would force our nation into energy future that is less affordable, less safe, and more dependent than ever on our most dangerous adversary—China.”
