Congressman Nick Langworthy Supports Parents Bill of Rights Act

March 24, 2023

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Nick Langworthy voted in support of H.R. 5 – the Parents Bill of Rights Act, a bill he co-sponsored. It passed in the House and checked off a critical promise made in the Commitment to America plan – a future that is built on freedom.

“I was proud to co-sponsor and vote for the Parents Bill of Rights Act that ensures parents have a guaranteed input in their children’s education. Whether it be critical race theory or far-left gender ideology, we have learned of too many cases where parents are being kept in the dark about the curriculum being taught to their children. This signature bill fulfills a key promise we made to the American people and I urge President Biden and the Senate to get behind this common-sense legislation to protect parent’s voices,” said Congressman Langworthy.

The pillars of this act include:

  • The right to know what’s being taught in schools and to see reading material.
  • The right to be heard.
  • The right to see school budget and spending.
  • The right to protect their child’s privacy.
  • The right to be updated on any violent activity at school.

Congressman Nick Langworthy represents the 23rd Congressional District of New York which includes Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Chemung, Schuyler, and Steuben Counties and parts of Erie County. Visit langworthy.house.gov.
