August 10, 2023

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) announced a federal grant of $1,559,007 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to Chautauqua Opportunities, Inc. for Early Head Start – Child Care Partnerships.

“I’m proud to have championed and secured over $1.5 million for Early Head Start projects in Chautauqua County,” said Congressman Langworthy. “By investing in this program, we are providing families with access to resources that will ensure school readiness and a brighter future. This grant exemplifies our unwavering commitment to fostering a thriving community where every child's potential is nurtured and realized.”

According to HHS, the Early Head Start-Child Care Partnership (EHS-CCP) initiative brings together the best of Early Head Start and child care through the layering of funding to provide comprehensive and continuous services to low-income infants, toddlers, and their families. EHS-CCP enhances developmental services and supports for low-income families by providing strong relationship-based experiences and preparing them for the transition into Head Start and preschool.
