Congressman Nick Langworthy Announces $75,000 Federal Grant for Project to Attract More Manufacturing to Steuben County
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) announced a $75,000 grant for the Steuben County Industrial Development Agency’s (IDA) Route 54 Industrial Site Analysis in Bath, New York. This grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), matched by $75,000 in local funds, will support the pre-development site analyses necessary to attract advanced manufacturing companies to Steuben County.
“Steuben County has a proud history as a manufacturing powerhouse, and this funding will help us build on that legacy,” said Congressman Langworthy. “By investing in the necessary site analyses, we can attract new advanced manufacturing companies, create jobs, and strengthen the local economy. I’m proud to support this initiative, which will pave the way for future growth in our region.”
The grant will be used to perform pre-development site analyses, including traffic studies, utility studies, and more along Route 54. These studies will help make site improvements and move targeted parcels to shovel-ready status. It will also provide the IDA with an analysis of possible tax incentives to attract new businesses to the region.
The ARC is an economic development agency of the federal government and 13 state governments focusing on 423 counties across the Appalachian region. Its mission is to innovate, partner, and invest to build community capacity and strengthen economic growth in the Appalachian region.
