Congressman Nick Langworthy Announces $29,000 Grant for the Allegany Rescue and EMS
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) announced that Allegany Rescue and EMS was awarded an Assistance to Firefighters Grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in the amount of $29,152.38.
“I’m pleased to announce a FEMA grant for the Allegany Rescue and EMS to bolster their firefighting operations and enhance safety measures,” said Rep. Langworthy. “These grants will provide crucial resources for advanced equipment, essential training programs, and strengthening our first responders’ ability to respond effectively to emergencies. We must support local first responders who stand ready to serve when we need them the most, especially in times of crisis.”
"I want to thank Congressman Langworthy for securing this grant and his relentless advocacy for public safety in our community,” said Chief Operating Officer and EMS Captain Jerry Cummins. “Our devoted Allegany Rescue and EMS team has consistently been at the forefront of life-saving interventions, and this grant provides additional resources to continue to serve our neighbors in the safest way possible."
According to FEMA, the primary goal of these grants is to enhance the safety and effectiveness of first responders while also improving their ability to respond to emergencies and disasters. They aim to address the evolving needs of first responders, from advanced equipment acquisition and updating aging vehicles to safety improvement and training programs.
