WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) announced a U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Grant for the Village of Sherman in Chautauqua County in the amount of $20,000 and a loan of $37,900. This funding will be used to purchase a new 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD with a snowplow.

“I’m proud to champion the rural communities of the Southern Tier from our nation's capital,” said Rep. Langworthy. “This vital investment ensures that the Village of Sherman can effectively serve its residents during the challenging winter months. I look forward to my continued work with Mayor Meeder and other local leaders to secure the necessary resources for our community's well-being."

“The Village of Sherman appreciates Congressman Langworthy's understanding of and attention to our rural communities in need of these program opportunities to bring stability during economic challenges, allowing us to maintain essential municipal services,” said Mayor Colleen Meeder. “USDA Rural Development has played a critical role in the Village of Sherman's ability to provide quality public works and utilities into the future.”

This grant is part of the USDA’s Community Facilities Direct Loan & Grant Program, which provides affordable funding to develop essential community facilities in rural areas.
