Congressman Nick Langworthy Announces $1,447,000 in Federal Funding for County Road 48 in Allegany County
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) announced two grants for the Allegany County Soil & Water Conservation District’s project to stabilize and prevent further erosion of County Road 48. Both grants were awarded by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for a total of $1,447,000.
“County Road 48 connects our community to schools, farms, businesses, and other essential services —we must maintain this critical infrastructure in order to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents," said Congressman Langworthy. "I’m pleased to announce that the Allegany County Soil & Water Conservation District has been awarded two significant grants from FEMA to address the erosion issues and prevent further damage on County Road 48. I’m proud to work with local officials to not only address weaknesses in our infrastructure, but ensure the proactive maintenance of it as well.”

According to FEMA, the first grant will provide $1,377,000 for the stabilization of County Road 48 to stop any further erosion, and the second grant will provide $70,000 for the management costs associated with this project.
