Congressman Nick Langworthy Announces $108,500 Federal Grant for the Village of Delevan Fire Department
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) announced that the Village of Delevan Fire Department has been awarded an Assistance to Firefighters Grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in the amount of $108,594.28.
“I’m proud to announce this significant FEMA grant for the Village of Delevan Fire Department, which will provide vital resources to enhance their firefighting capabilities and ensure community safety,” said Congressman Langworthy. “This funding is essential for acquiring advanced equipment and implementing comprehensive training programs, ensuring our first responders are well-prepared to handle emergencies.”
In January, Congressman Langworthy hosted a virtual seminar with FEMA officials to help local fire departments prepare for the grant application process.
According to FEMA, the primary goal of these grants is to enhance the safety and effectiveness of first responders while also improving their ability to respond to emergencies and disasters. They aim to address the evolving needs of first responders, from advanced equipment acquisition and updating aging vehicles to safety improvement and training programs.
