Congressman Langworthy Supports CDC Rollback of Dog Import Rules, Following His Bipartisan Letter Requesting Delay

July 23, 2024

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Nick Langworthy issued the following statement regarding the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) rollback of restrictive new dog import rules.

“The CDC rolling back the overbearing dog import rules is great news for Western New York — and I was proud to lead bipartisan efforts to make this happen,” said Congressman Langworthy. “This change will alleviate undue burdens on families and businesses in our bi-national community who rely on travel between the U.S. and Canada. Moving forward, we need a balanced approach that maintains public health with common-sense policies, not ill-conceived mandates from unelected bureaucrats.”
