Congressman Langworthy Slams Biden Administration’s Condolences to Iran Over Death of President Raisi

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today,Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) issued the following response to a statement from the U.S. Department of State: 

“It’s absolutely outrageous and un-American that the Biden Administration sent condolences to Iran for the death of President Ebrahim Raisi, known as the ‘Butcher of Tehran.’ This is a man responsible for massacring political prisoners and dissidents, propagating terrorism, and committing countless other crimes against humanity. President Biden's actions not only undermine the values we stand for as a nation but also disrespect the countless victims who suffered under Raisi. This is another disgusting example of President Biden’s appeasement of Iran and weakness on the world stage that emboldens terrorist regimes, threatening global stability and our way of life.”
