SINCLAIRVILLE, N.Y. – Today, Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) proudly hosted 179 Vietnam Veterans for a 50th Anniversary Vietnam-Era Veteran Pinning Ceremony at Cassadaga High School in Chautauqua County.  This event was hosted in partnership with the United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration to honor local veterans for their service and sacrifice.

“Honoring our Vietnam veterans is long overdue, and it is a privilege to acknowledge the courage and dedication these individuals demonstrated during one of our nation's most challenging periods,” said Congressman Langworthy. “Their sacrifices and those of their families have not been forgotten. Today’s ceremony is a small token of our immense gratitude.”

The Congressman was joined in honoring these veterans by local supporters and local officials, including Chautauqua County Executive PJ Wendel.

The 2008 National Defense Authorization Act established the U.S. Vietnam War Commemoration to honor living U.S. veterans who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces at any time during the period of November 1, 1955, to May 15, 1975, regardless of where they were stationed.
