Congressman Langworthy Honors Nearly 300 Vietnam Veterans from Erie County in Pinning Ceremony

HAMBURG, N.Y. – Today, Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) proudly hosted 298 Vietnam veterans from Erie County and their families for a 50th Anniversary Vietnam-Era Veteran Pinning Ceremony. This event was held at Hilbert College's William E. Swan Auditorium in partnership with the United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration to honor local veterans for their service and sacrifice.
“It was a true privilege to recognize hundreds of brave Vietnam-era veterans from Erie County in this pinning ceremony today,” said Congressman Langworthy. “This event was an important way to give these heroes a long-overdue ‘welcome home’ and thank them on behalf of a grateful nation. In Congress, I’m honored to stand up for our veterans and ensure they receive the respect, support, and benefits they earned and deserve.”
The Congressman was joined in honoring these veterans by their families, community supporters, and local officials.
The 2008 National Defense Authorization Act established the U.S. Vietnam War Commemoration to honor living U.S. veterans who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces at any time during the period of November 1, 1955, to May 15, 1975, regardless of where they were stationed.
