Congressman Langworthy Announces $1.46 Million in Federal Funding for Cohocton Water Infrastructure Improvements
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) announced a $1.46 million federal loan for the Town of Cohocton to support a significant water infrastructure improvement project. The funding, awarded through the USDA’s Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant Program, will allow Cohocton to address critical water management issues and secure a dependable water supply for residents.
“This significant investment in water infrastructure will make a real difference for Cohocton,” said Congressman Langworthy. “With $1.46 million in federal funding, the town can move forward with essential upgrades to its water system, ensuring clean and reliable service for all residents and businesses. These improvements are about more than replacing aging infrastructure—they’ll help us build a stronger, healthier future for the entire community.”
The project will focus on replacing old and deteriorating water distribution lines, which will dramatically improve water quality and pressure for the community. These upgrades will also minimize service disruptions and reduce the risk of contamination, creating a more efficient and dependable water system for Cohocton’s residents. The total project cost is $3.6 million, with local contributions helping to ensure the project’s successful completion.
